/blacklist bars a member from both bots — TriBridge and the THG community bot. It is bot-admin only and every reply is private.

What it does

A blacklisted member:
  • has every command, button, menu and autocomplete refused, on both bots;
  • no longer reaches Minecraft from the bridge channel or an officer channel. Their message stays in Discord with a ⛔ reaction, so they can see it was not sent rather than it disappearing.
What they type in-game is not affected, because the blacklist is about Discord accounts. Use /mute for guild chat.

Rules

  • Bots, yourself and other bot admins cannot be blacklisted. Take the admin role away first. Otherwise one admin could lock another out of both bots.
  • A change applies here at once, and on the community bot within about 15 seconds.
  • It fails open. If the database cannot be read, nobody counts as blacklisted. Failing closed would refuse every command and stop the whole bridge for everyone during an outage, to keep out a handful of members. The admin check still fails closed, so nothing privileged opens up.
  • The reason is for the other admins and is never shown to the member.
  • Every add and remove is recorded in the audit channel.

Where it is stored

In the database shared with the community bot, in its Blacklist table, per Discord server. TriBridge writes it — the only table in the community bot’s schema it does — and the community bot reads it. The table is created by the community bot’s migrations, so update the community bot first: until its migration has run, /blacklist add reports a database error and nobody is blacklisted. The ⛔ needs Add Reactions in the channel. Without it the message is still held back, just without the marker. See Permissions.
